Young Sandra is bullied at school
As a producer with nearly thirty years’ experience in the film industry, Margaret Matheson’s creative output is both impressive and abundant. She was a founding director (with Charles Denton) of Zenith Productions Ltd. From 1984–1990, where she Executive Produced the feature films The Hit, Sid and Nancy, Personal Services, Wish you were here, The Dead, Prick Up Your Ears as well as the highly regarded series, Inspector Morse.

Earlier work for the BBC’s Play for Today series includes Scum, and Abigail’s Party.

Genevieve joined Moonlighting in 1997 to create Moonlighting Films. Now a partner in the company, Genevieve’s 15 years as a freelance line-producer has given her invaluable experience. With a number of studio films under her belt, Genevieve is undoubtedly one of South Africa’s most sought-after producers. Her credits as a Line Producer include Home Alone 4 (20th Century Fox), Beyond Borders (Mandalay), Ali (Columbia Tristar), Running Free (Columbia Tristar), I Dreamed of Africa (Columbia Tristar), Kin.

Through her company, Bard Entertainments (founded in 1994) Margaret Matheson has produced Revengers Tragedy, directed by Alex Cox from a screenplay by Frank Cotterell Boyce; American Cousins, the first feature of director Donald Coutts and writer Sergio Casci, and Executive Produced AKA by writer/director Duncan Roy — all released in 2002–2003, as well as Kin by writer/director Elaine Proctor, Space Island One for BskyB and executive produced Lost for words, Babymother and Eve’s Bayou. She was also Executive Producer of the Oscar®-winning (Best Foreign Film 1995) Antonia’s Line.

Genevieve also co-produced A Reasonable Man (Moviworld), High Explosive (Tower of London), Inside Out (Penguin Films) and was Line Producer on The Place of Lions, and Paljas as well as Production Manager of Dangerous Ground (New Line Cinema), Congo (Uganda) and A Good Man in Africa (Iceberg Africa). Recent work includes Racing Stripes (Alcon), The Interpreter (Directed by Sydney Pollack) and Hotstuff (Directed by Philip Noyce).
